Leeland is becoming a real family affair with long time members and the brothers Leeland Mooring - Lead Vocals/Guitars and Jack Mooring - Keyboards, now joined by their sister Shelly Mooring - Bass, who replaced Jake Holtz. The only member who is not family, is the drummer Mike Smith but I guess he´s treated like a brother. Their 4th album "The Great Awakening" received a nomination at the Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. It also reached Top 11 on Christian charts, this is their most worship sounding album of them all with plenty of singalong choruses from the opening track "The great awakening" to the beautiful "Holy ghost". In between we get the epic "All over the earth" which is truly magnificent even though it´s 8 minutes long and what about the uptempo "I can see your love", this one is without doubt one of Leeland´s best songs so far. You can clearly hear the Delirious? influences in a song like "Pages", just lovely. A strong album indeed!
