It´s nice to see former Sloth vocalist Richard Love back in business with new music even if it´s not with Sloth, his new band Seismatik features a gang of splendid musicians like Aaron Rossi on drums (Ministry), Mike Longworth on bass (Prong) and Jesse Billson on guitar (Heaven Below). It´s a slightly different sound on Seismatik´s debut EP "Someone like you" compared to their previous bands, we´re talking a crossover of electronica, modern rock and metal here. The track "My radio" can be described as alternative pop metal, it is also the most radio ready song on this EP. They rock really hard on "Seconds" which will appeal to old fans of Prong and Sloth, andsongs like "Someone like you" and "Burn the air" sounds like given tracks for the Underworld Soundtrack or why not Resident Evil. Cool indeed!

Did you know that?

The Who were originally called The Detours, then changed their name to The Who after a suggestion by Townsend´s friend Richard Barnes. Their first manager, Pete Meaden, renamed them The High Numbers, and they released one unsuccessful single, Zoot Suit, under that name. When EMI dropped them the band sacked Pete Meaden and went back to being called The Who.

It is said another possible reason was because of Peter Townshend´s grandmother, who would always refer to popular bands as "The Who?" mainly because of hard hearing.
