Review

The Italian band Evenoire formed in 2007 but it would take another 5 years before their debut album "Vitriol" was completed and released in March 2012, they combine a wide range of influences from gothic to symphonic metal with a very distinctive medieval/folk approach. You could say they sound a bit like a mix of Nightwish and Skyclad, but with a touch of their own original sound. Evenoire´s singer Lisy Stefanoni is an important cornerstone of the band, they should hold on to her pretty strong. I really like the beautiful artwork and the song "Minstrel of Dolomites" is a real pearl here, but the weird "Alchimia" can be described as comedy metal. Not my cup of tea at all. The first 3 songs soundalike which makes it hard to seperate one song from the other, the bombastic "Girl by the lake" is pretty good though.

Did you know that?

James blunt´s "Goodbye My Lover" was recorded in his slightly insane landlady´s bathroom where the piano was kept.
