Review

A week or something ago I was surfing around on the Internet looking for cool new bands that might be interesting for the site. And pretty soon I found a band called Ide that had been working with Malcolm Springer (Greenwheel, Spike 1000) that had a promising sound.
And here in my hands I now have a four song Ep from the band that is interesting for all of you that are into modern rock with a touch of power pop. They have a sound quite familiar to another band that I unfortunately can?t find in my music library inside my forehead. But imagine a mix of Our Lady Peace, Swimmer and why not say All American Rejects and we?re quite close musically. Of the songs that we have here, the second out ?Why Must I?? is the favourite with a great chorus that sticks in your head at once and makes me think of Raine Maida. This is how modern rock sounded in the good ?old? days when these type of acts were signed to major labels and the fu**ing downloading programs like Napster and Kazaa hadn?t broke through and destroyed the future for a lot of bands.
The good old days ain?t that long ago actually, its just that no modern rock acts get signed these days to the bigger labels, which is really, really sad. But anyway, Ide is a fresh band that deserves your attention with their charming and catchy modern rock and if they can they continue writing as nice songs as this EP they will get a lot of fans around the globe.

Go check them out at their website!
