First of all I wanna say that I?m a big fan of Creed after three great recordings and was really disappointed when it was confirmed that the band had split up.

Everything must come to an end, but Creed?s final day came a little too early coz I believe that the songwriting team of Stapp/Tremonti had a lot more to offer. But luckily the split up wasn?t all bad because out of the ashes rises Alter Bridge that has all the chances to make it to the top.
I dont think that this band will be as successful as Creed, which is very, very hard with the fantastic number of 24 million sold albums in the U.S. But any fan of Stapp/Tremonti cant let this debut pass by when you?ll get 3/4 of Creed and the lead vocalist from Mayfield Four (Myles Kennedy). This is a classy and very competent album with a handful of killer tunes.

When I heard that Myles would be the vocalist in the band I was very relieved because how boring would it have been with a second version of Scott Stapp behind the microphone? Myles has been compared to Scott?s grunge voice but the music is more into classic hard rock which makes this new constellation a totally new band instead of a 2nd version of Creed.

The first single from the album ?Open your eyes? that is spinning frequently on melodic.net radio and probably all alternative rock channels in U.S is a fantastic modern rock tune that smells hit for miles. Fans of Creed?s super hits ?Higher? and ?My sacrifice? will recognize that it?s same type of song and many will probably have it as this years best modern rock tune like me.

Another goodie on ?One day remains? is the crystal clear single candidate ?In loving memory? that is a lovely power ballad, which really got stuck in my head and touches the soul immediately.

The hit orientated songs on the album will probably be the most popular ones, but if you ask me, I would say that the most interesting ones are the more hard influenced tunes like ?One day remains?, ?Metalingus? and ?Watch your word? with a melody sounding just a little too much like Metallicas ?Sad but true?.
Lovely tunes that feels more personal and unique than any other even if they ever won?t make it to singles, if that?s a measurement for quality.

?One day remains? isn?t a revolutionary album, but it?s really good with a nice line-up of songs and a great mix of songs that makes the album varied in the sound. So if you?re into the bandmembers previous works-this is an album that you can?t miss.

There is not one song in this album that u don?t want to listen to. Finally some quality rock music from a band that has musical talent unlike those cheap pop, and punk bands which play cheap and easy riffs and the same power chords. There Lyrics are amazing i wish i could write like that, there lyrics have meaning and are inspirational. In loving memory is the perfect sentimental song, Open your eyes is inspirational, and Find the Real is a good old traditional sounding rock song. I believe this album deserves a 5 star cause i cant think of another band that plays better quality music. They are a good role models and dont act like idiots on stage, not to mention they are patroitic. As far as im concerned this is the best band in the 21st century, better than, slipknot, nirvana, tool, system.of.down, blink 182, green day definetely better than my chemycol romance etc. heck creed was still better then any of these bands. In a world were 95% of the bands have no talent, and there music is cheap and worthless Alter Bridge RISES ABOVE IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!! LONG LIVE ALTER BRIDGE!!!!!!!!!

I too, was dissapointed when Creed broke up, but this album way out does any Creed work. Tremonti is a machine with the guitar, face melting solos, firey hot licks, and super fast guitar work is all over this album. Not only has Tremonti stepped up his level of playing, but so has everyone else. Especially Scott Phillips with the drums. Can you say double bass? He too is a madman with his insturment. You can especiually hear it in the heavier fast paced songs like "Metalingus" And as for Myles and Brian, what can be said about them but, they rock. Myles vocal range is insane, not to mention his added threat as a second guitar player, and all you Creed fans know that Marshall is quite the bassist. All I can say is, if you dont have this cd you are seriously missing out. This is the best band and their cd is top notch. Get it now, trust me you wont regret it.

Did you know that?

Lars Ulrich came up with the moniker Metallica while helping a friend name the metal magazine, Metal Mania.
