Review

My heroes are back finally with a new studio album after 5 long years so guess if I was like child putting this advance cd in my stereo.......man,it was like christmas eve! But there I sat with my headphones on playing it real loud and were just dissapointed, sure it?s a good album but these 3 guys are legends and they are always better than "just" good. It sounds like Geddy Lee doesn?t had the right inspiration for bringing us masterful melodies for the whole record, there are of course some highlights but not enough to satisfy my Rush soul! The keyboardpart has been taken down and it is more of a guitar oriented album, some work from Lifeson goes in the same vein as his solo record "Victor". Even though "Vapor Trail" grows on me everytime I listen to it,the songs lie on the Mt.Blanc level when they should be on the Mt.Everest heights. The band can do so much better but if you think otherwise when you will hear it,that?s just good for you because it will take a while for me to appreciate the new album.

Did you know that?

John Mellencamp was never comfortable with the fact that he had changed his name to the stage name ´Johnny Cougar´. However, his success made it difficult to change back, so in the 80s he became the hybrid John Cougar Mellencamp.
