Review

Singer/songwriter Ani DiFranco has re-recorded five old songs on her upcoming release "Canon," via Brushfire on September 11, 2007. This 35-song double album has new renditions of "Napoleon," "Shameless," "Your Next Bold Move," "Both Hands" and "Overlap" recorded with bassist Todd Sickafoose and drummer Allison Miller.

"Canon" features material from throughout DiFranco´s 16 year career, including favorites such as "Coming Up," "Untouchable Face," "32 Flavors" and "Cradle & All." The new versions of the older songs include a great modern touch to the tracks. The feel of the album is eclectic, due to the variety of the old songs and mixed with the new tracks. "Canon" was produced by her own record label, "Righteous Babe" were she recorded her very first album.

Her emotionally strong voice, along with her passionate energy, ensures that "Canon" will be all that it promises to be. This album showcases her raw energy and talent and shows off her incredible music ability. Definitely a buy for Ani Fans or anyone interested in her music as it is almost like a "new" greatest hits album.

Did you know that?

Linkin Park is spelled that way because the band wanted to get the "dot com" and LincolnPark.com was already taken.
