Swiss band CRYSTAL BALL has been releasing albums since 1999 in the melodic hard rock genre. Fronted by Mark Sweeney, a singer with a voice a bit like Udo Dirkschneider but a fraction less screamy, they deliver in-your-face hard rock that should be checked up if you like DIO, ACCEPT or even AXXIS and heavier GOTTHARD. To me, the semi-ballad "Dreaming of you" is a really strong song, and I´d also like to mention "Minor key" (another semi-ballad) as one of the better tracks. As a whole, the band gives you quite ordinary melodic hard rock or melodic metal. It´s quite a good release, even though they do not come close enough to the mentioned Classic bands above. There´s something missing; som edge or nerve.
The longest song to reach number one on the Billboard charts on LP was "I´d Do Anything For Love (But I Won´t Do That)" by Meatloaf, the shortest: "Stay" by Maurice Williams & the Zodiacs.
