Ric Peters started The Perfects in 2005 and released their self titled debut EP in 2006, the Baltimore based electro pop band The Perfects also remixed for other artists including Mindless Self Indulgence. Following the footsteps of Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails, the new album "Future automatic" is available as free download at their website. So how do The Perfects sound like? Well I think of this band as a mix of modern electro rock in the same vein as Innerpartysystem and Shiny Toy Guns with 80´s synth pop with names like Howard Jones and Duran Duran. All songs are written and performed by Ric Peters and boy, do I like his gentleman-like vocals that is reminiscent of Simon LeBon on "End of us". Check out "Come down" or "New life" and tell me if this isn´t great synth driven pop or what!

Just F*&Cking Awesome
Consider me a new fan. Love the influences here! Extremely catchy stuff. Hope to see The Perfects on tour.
I've got to laugh at some of the comments here. Ric Peters must have made a few enemies along the way. The negative comments seem a bit personal.
I think it's a great album. At least we all agree that the production/mix quality is fantastic ... I just side with the honest reviewers who like the music as well ....
I was really excited about this record since Ive been following these guys for a while. I like Rics voice and was really ready to love this release but Im sorry to say that he really lost something when the other writers and entire band left him. Too bad. Nice guy though.
Rather uninspired. I really couldn't get past the first few songs. Technically good but musically lacking and over all pretty forgettable. Sorry. It's just how I feel.
This band must be great, look at all the comments. I'm going to go listen. I must say...I'm intrigued to hear it now.

It's OK. Not great. Seems like I've heard several of the hooks before.
Hey "Brian" you sure took quite some time to look into the negative comments and conclude that anyone that didn't like your mediocre record must not be actual fans of music but instead some conspiracy against your band. The only people that think this way or care this much about reviews are band members themselves. Thanks for exposing yourselves. Your album isn't bad. It just isn't all that good either. It's musically and lyrically about as creative as you are stealthy. LOL indeed.
After seeing both a mix of negative and postive reviews here is my take. The album is fantastic. Good song writing and great production. The singer really has a good voice. And it's free!
I have a real hard time believing the negative reviews and to me it seems like the same person posting the same or slighty different negative review. Scorned gf maybe? I dunno but honestly seeing the trend everytime someone posts a positive review there are like 2 or 3 negatives that follow all around the same time frame and for me that takes away the credibility of the negative reviews. Plus judging from the bands myspace page people seem to really be loving the album.
Listening the lyrics I am not sure how they come across whiney which seems to be the theme of the person who is posting the negative feedback. Sorry I don't hear that. Seems pretty honest and from the heart. Matter of fact most of the lyrics were positive and upbeat. The best tracks by far were "End Of Us", "Come Down" and "New Life".
Great job The Perfects and I look forward to hearing more from this band. Consider me a fan and I'll be spreading the word.
Nice production but musically it's truly, truly dull.
Stop stroking yourself. This album is boring.
The overall album was good. Very good flow could have used more songs though.
This man is a musical and lyrical genius. I'm glad to have experienced the life pour out of his soul...this is real life captured by one man. Great job The Perfects, this is your time and your chance...take it!
Whine Whine Whine.
Please put this self indulgent band out of their misery.
Wow, with all of these comments I expected something really polarizing about the music. It's not bad, but certainly not worth all of this attention. I'm guessing that the band gave themselves the negative attention in order to galvanize their fan base. Would have been better if they just made a record that was above average. Unfortunately hype seems to be king with these fellas.
I guess everyone's comments here are fakes lol.
I personally liked it. Not everyone is expected to like the same things.
It's OK, but nothing special. It's worth having for free but not something that I plan on coming back to or listening to over and over. Like I said. It's OK.
My question is, why is it that the extremely positive comments read very much like the bands press release? This one in particular is suspect:

-LOL at the negative reviews!! Sounds to me like the negative reviews are fake because this album is incredible. The production is off the charts. The singers voice is perfect (no pun intended) and the music is amazing. The lyrics are heart felt and honest. It really captures the era described in the review. Bravo to The Perfects for an amazing album!! And to the negative reviewers I call bullshit, because either these people didn't really listen to the album or it's the same person posting all the hate comments. It's great, download it.
Personally, I really like this album. Ric's voice is amazing and I can't get enough of it. But, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That's why they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream.

not horrible. just some woe-is-me teen angst from what looks like a guy in his mid 30s. the review made it out to be far better than it is so i think that might be why people reacted so negatively. music is pretty at moments but not particularly original or all that memorable beyond a song or two.
What's with all the haters? The album is not terrible, but it does need room for improvements.
The negative comments are pretty hilarious but the album is not all that bad s it? Not the best album in the world but not too bad first effort. It sounds pretty good too but yeah I cant really remember any of the songs.
Uh, so my guess is that The Perfects put up their CD for review, their pal reviewed it, most people hated it and now the band is posting as other people to balance out the negative reply's? Why not just spend your effort writing better music? This is really kinda OK at best, but it really is a rather forgettable album with good production. Like the saying goes...you can't shine shit....but I'm betting someone paid a pretty penny to try!
Can't believe all these negative comments The Perfects is getting here. I downloaded this album and it had great production, great songs. They did a good job putting this together. Not bad at all.
I really liked it. Thought some of the songs were really catchy.
So I guess the The Perfects haters club has gathered around here which is an honor for us, let me join you on your class reunion where we can dance together to Aqua´s Barbie girl and so on.
Interesting case study but not exactly musically or emotionally inspiring...unless you're an 8 year old child with a ME ME ME ME ME ME ME complex.
I can't delete this drivel from my drive fast enough. seriously this sucks
more like Presently Meh
No, " it isn't great synth driven pop". It's a snoozefest. Did this dudes BFF write the review or just a deaf guy??? This shit sucks. Stop fucking whining!
If being proud of being average was an art form, The Perfects are the kings of the genre. This is unrepentantly mediocre.
Textures are somewhat pretty but very "heard before" and the singer is so whiny. Please man up already and grow a pair.
Who doesn't this sound like ? Not one original note !
Production is nice though.
The mix is great! It's too bad that the songs are so boring:(
My roommate downloaded The Perfects and played it a few times yesterday and again this morning before I left for work. It didn't strike me at first and mostly seemed like inoffensive background music. It still does. I can't remember one hook or melody. It's literally forgettable.
Heard teh album (even bought the pysical copy) and its awesome!
Highly recomended because of the great tunes, the cool grooves and its high quality production. Great, great work.
