Review

I remember when Martina McBride totally blew the overnight sensation Taylor Swift off stage at the Nashville Country Music Awards 2008, the 42 year old Martina did an amazing performance of the first single "Ride" from her new album "Shine" that was released in March 2009.
"Ride" ain´t exactly a typical country song but more of a 38 Special rocker and when I heard that Dann Huff had produced this album, I just gotta hear it.
The new single "I just call you mine" is a Heart-like ballad and a better ambassadeur for Martina´s new album, she is called Celine Dion of Country music and when I hear the beautiful "Lies" I really do think it´s a good comparison.
The country pop of "You´re not leaving me" bring thoughts to Shania Twain or is it the other way around?
If you want a real nice country pop album, then "Shine" will do just fine.
