Review

Human Cometh is a new Swedish melodic hardrock/metal band. Behind this is former Melodic.net reviewer Kaj Roth (vocals), guitarist Morgan Pettersson that is Human Cometh together with rhythm section Bjorn Pehrson (bass) and Jon Robbins (drums). Evolution is their debut album and is a solid affair with riff oriented songs and a tight production. What this album lacks of is song variation and I think many of the songs has the same feeling and reminds little of each other. I think Kaj sings very good and to be honest much better than I had expected and his voice suits this kind of hardrock/metal. They deliver 9 tracks on Evolution and it’s a very even album and I miss the real standout track that would lift up the album couple of levels. I think they open up the album is a fine way with Aiming High that has a darker feel over it with good melodies. The melodic Himalaya is nice with strong riffs from Morgan and a nice chorus that reminds of Winger. No Fear is strongly influenced by Thin Lizzy and is the best song of the album with a heavy chorus. The instrumental track Cross The River Styx is very melodic and has a neo-classical influences a´la Yngwie Malmsteen. Human Cometh is a band that just have started and their debut album Evolution is a solid album and I’m sure we will hear more from them and that the next album will be even stronger. Couple of nice ones but as I said the songs are to sound alike. If you mixture a spoon of Kiss with Kings X and Winger then you got Evolution.

Kaj
Thanks for listening Juha, those were some kind words. I expected a lot more negative talk from you since we only got 2,5 stars but Im happy you wrote so many good things.

Did you know that?

According to Billboard, Elton John was the top-selling album artist of the 1970´s
