Review

Italy has really made their way to the melodic hardrock/Aor scene lately with nice releases such as Shining Line, Edge Of Forever, Wheels Of Fire, Perfect View and the list goes on. F.e.a.s.t is the brain child of Italian born singer and guitarist Fabri Kiareli and he has recorded a strong debut album filled with well-crafted hardrock in the same vein as Whitesnake, Dokken, Burning Rain and White Lion. Yes, the guitars are loud and filled with strong riffs and melodies. Rise is album filled with classic hardrock. Opener Fire And Dynamite is a straight ahead rocker in the veins of Dokken, the guitars are loud on this one. Feed The Hunger is another rocker with riff strong guitars and reminds of White Lion. If your into some bluesy hardrock a´la Whitesnake then check out the great Dangerous Love and you get your doze of blues. On Follow The Way Edge Of Forever singer Alessandro Del Vecchio sings a duet with Fabri. It’s a hard rocking and hook laden song that sounds huge, fans of Dokken will enjoy this for sure. Cold Hearted is a typical classic rock power ballad with strong melodies and a wonderful chorus. Broken Dreams is another rock ballad that reminds little of Scorpions meets White Lion with a strong chorus.

The album ends with the epic The Meaning Of Life, this is a great song with twist and turns. Starts very slow, but fires up to a rocker with fantastic riffs and a powerful sound. There’s also a hidden track, an acoustic song with just Fabri and his guitar. Fabri has a strong voice with both power and feeling. The production sounds tight and very powerful. There’s couple of songs that are a bit average and the running time of the album is over 70 minutes and that feels a bit too long. Otherwise, F.e.a.s.t is a good debut album from Fabri Kiareli and it’s filled with nice classic 80s hardrock.

Did you know that?

The band “311” was named after the “exact time the band formed.”
