was the singer/songwriter for a rock band called july for kings. we recently dropped the july for kings name. instead i have a solo record coming out next year, tentatively called "Curvature". it features two other former members of JFK Dan McQuinn on drums and T Miller on cello and guitar. The album is produced by friend and celebrated L.A. producer/mixer/programmer Blumpy. We are in the mixing/overdubs phase right now and i am more excited everyday.
this has been one of the most intensely creative periods my life. not only is every second of the album extremely thought out but i?m also working on a lot of art work to accompany it. i have been drawing, painting, and collaging (i know that?s not a word) on these large cardboard panels. then scanning things in, printing them out to use. then manipulating the final images even more in photoshop. this has been time consuming. i am also working with my long time friend and creative partner eric stewart on a music video for the song "mitral valve prolapse". the video also involves this artwork. the video will be very conceptual and fits the spirit of the record. it seems like the more i do the more there is to do. i?m no longer in a hurry. the important thing is that it?s all right. we have also been rehearsing, playing acoustic shows and the occasional mad frog show when time permits, as well as a few runs to nyc, philly, cleveland etc. thakns for being interested enough to read all this. i love making music for you. peace joe
