Four years have past since this project started in the dining room of my apartment . In that time the music has been progressing, steadily; evolving as a result of significant life altering events, feedback from our family, friends, fans, and the media, and changes in the line up. Every album, every performance is more powerful, more passionate, more intense. We have been blessed with fans, and venues that have embraced us strongly. It blows my mind when we receive accolades from the press, or when other bands ask to do shows with us, or compliment us on our music....I know that we have talent, and that we are tight, and I know that we move people as we have received many testimonials, (one is posted on our "MYSPACE" page)...I guess I´m just modest when it comes to being complimented, I think it´s because I am just as much of a fan of music, as I am a musician. We have a connection that allows us to feed off of one another on a level that at times even blows our minds. We are a New England band, and as New Englanders we know that audiences are fickle, judgemental, and can make or break a performance. We consistently strive to satisfy our audience create a buzz, and that drive to entertain does not falter even when playing during a Nor´easter on a Saturday night with only ten die hard music fans in attendance. We firmly believe in...and I quote "Go big or go home." We have recorded four diverse original albums. From our roots in folk to border line metal. We have a library of covers that are fun, high energy, and different than what other bands perform. We find that throwin´ down a double time version of Proud Mary, a powerful rendition of Hard to Handle, or a passionate performance of Radiohead´s Creep moves an audience more so than a note for note cover of some top forty all the songs and singers sound the same song. No matter the size of the venue, or the crowd we put our backs into every performance, every song is a show in itself, and it should be, because every song whether original or a cover takes the listener to a different place. We are The American Standard, and we can´t wait to move you.
