In a time when trends, fashion and music genres fade and change quicker than ever. It is to no avail that ‘If Looks Could Kill’ chose to create something a little more timeless. A record that didn´t stick with any one genre, sound or style. MK-ULTRA is the new album, loaded with soaring harmonies, ripping guitars, club pounding bass, electrifying synth and heavy hitting drums. This album began production late November 2008. The sound on this record is mixed with heavy rock tracks like Dim the Lights and Shallow, to Club anthems such as Radio and Fever. Cover my ears and These words are heartfelt ballads that will keep you on your feet, while songs like Always and Killers keep this album grounded to If Looks Could Kill´s pop rock roots. This album features guest appearances from Naja Calibur, a GTA household name that has been killing the scene since 2000, touring with the Black Eyed Peas performing at venues such as Air Canada Center, Naja had a great vibe and exceptional experience to bring to this record. Rich London appears on behalf of Sound Clap/Universal Records a solid asset to the project, having performed in New York, Miami and NXNE, Rich London brings a unique swagger and style to MK-ULTRA. If Looks Could Kill is a collaboration between two long time friends/band mates (J-ROC and Hawleywood) looking to make music that is inspiring, epic and real, having both played in numerous bands and projects, traveling together on grueling tours including Vans Warped Tour and Edgefest, having spent countless hours in studios all across the country. It was time to write a full-length album to capture all of this . The guys hooked up with long time friend Murray Daigle (producer) to start pre-production and really help take the "If Looks Could Kill" vision and make it sonic. Murray having a ton of full length albums under his belt including Wind-Up Records "Cauterize" (So far from real) and Linus Records "Not By Choice" (Maybe One day) Murray brings brilliant talent to the table. After writing and tracking countless demo songs for this album, J ROC and Hawleywood jumped right into MDS Recording Studio to get started. Inspired from anything to the early 80´s explosion of synth pop, to rock ballads of the mid 90´s. ILCK had lots of musical inspiration for MK-ULTRA.
