Bio

Born in Roslyn, Long Island, Amy began playing guitar at the age of nine. At twenty, she composed her first song- as a wedding gift to friends. She then moved to Northern California, and played at festivals and jammed around many a campfire with talented musicians in the northern California, and southern Oregon area. Ten years later when she returned to New York City, she immersed herself in classes, and voice lessons, played open mikes and improved her craft through a lot of hard work and fun.

Greatly encouraged by her peers and teachers, she continued to grow. When she was ready to record her songs for the upcoming album, she spent the summer of 2006 in the studio recording with Ben Wisch (Jonatha Brooke, Lucy Kaplansky, Marc Cohn) and came out with 5 of the 10 songs on her album. They are beautifully crafted and arranged and much thanks goes out to all the people who helped her and poured their heart and soul into it. “ Really talented musicians, like Shawn Pelton, Oz Noy, Jon Caban, Tony Tino , the Benelli brothers, Malcolm Gold, and Ben Wisch, gave it their all, and put a lot of love into it, and you can really hear it.” Amy says. She went on to record the other 5 songs with Jon Gordon (Suzanne Vega), another talented engineer and guitar player and finally to George Petit, who stepped in as mixing engineer, and who is finishing up the album.

Amy is now in the rehearsal studio, getting ready to come out and perform, and share her music with the world. She has played venues such as The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall and Arlene’s Grocery in NYC and she is planning her release party for beginning 08, possibly at the Cutting Room.

Stay tuned!
