Richmond, VA pop rockers The Jim Ivins Band ring in 2012 with their new EP Everything We Wanted, the follow up to their 2009 Ace Enders-produced self-titled set.

Produced by fellow Richmond native Pedro Aida (The Riot Before, Ann Berretta, Carbon Leaf), Ivins & co. have expanded their pop rock sound, from the delicate acoustics of love song "Rollercoaster" to the frenetic rock of "Emergency" and the sexy syncopation of "Lost My Mind."

Inspired by a recent show opening for rock radio favorites Switchfoot and The Airborne Toxic Event, Ivins decided to look farther inward when writing for Everything We Wanted, crafting a record soaked in introspection while touching on a myriad of emotions and situations like addiction ('The Sight Of Fire'), sex ('Lost My Mind') and moving forward after experiencing tragedy ('Everything We Wanted')."

"With half the songs having first versions written when I was 18, this record, to me, represents coming full circle and acknowledging the past while using it to shape where you're going. It starts with the naiveté of when you're 18 and think you have it all figured out when you really don't have a clue, and then cycles to me now at 23 where I'm far from having it all figured out, but was compelled to go deeper and write about other things in life besides relationships."

In addition to brand new material, the band, which features its namesake Jim Ivins (lead vocals/guitar), his older brother Jack (drums) and friends Bobby Gary (bass) and Drew Martin (guitar/vocals), has updated three songs ("Run," "Rollercoaster" and "It's Getting Better") released previously on Ivins' first solo album 99¢ Dreams to showcase the songs' evolution over the years to Jim Ivins Band songs.

The band last released material in December 2010, contributing two songs to a charity compilation for Jim and Jack's mother Kathy, a marathon runner who passed away from melanoma in July of 2010. The album, entitled Songs Of Life: The Kathy Ivins Project, was comprised of local artists and benefited The Kathy Ivins Fund, a foundation started by the family in order to benefit fitness and wellness groups, as well as to promote healthy lifestyles.

Since forming in 2007, The Jim Ivins Band have been making a name for themselves in the Virginia area and beyond. Scoring rave reviews from publications like Absolutepunk.net and Property of Zack, while also garnering artist of the month honors from MuzikDizcovery.com and artist of the day at Fanbridge.com, they have proven themselves to be universally appealing, winning over audiences young and old with their unique brand of acoustic pop rock. They have been fortunate enough to share the stage with national acts such as Parachute, Carolina Liar, The Rocket Summer, Cracker, The Ataris, Mae, Carbon Leaf, Pat McGee Band, He Is We and Every Avenue as well as showcasing at the 2009 Miami Music Festival. Their 2009 self-titled EP was engineered and mixed by Grammy Award-winning engineer Michael Congdon and features the song "The Chance," a single produced by The Early November's Ace Enders that has caught fire on internet radio giant Pandora, racking up 160,000 spins and counting.
