Sweet James...

Justin lay helpless on an isolated beach in Venezuela, his foot nearly severed, his surf board lost in the waves, and his career destroyed by a tiger shark. One day and 7 pints of blood later, Justin sat in a hospital bed, exhausted, confused, and determined to devote the rest of his life to music.

Brett fell in love at five years old. She was Japanese, had a small body with perfect curves, a thin neck supporting her perfectly shaped head. She was a beautiful ? size electric guitar that saw him through every night of his childhood. He soon became a man, but he has not forgotten his Japanese Princess, and has vowed to continue making music for her.

Paul closed the trunk of his old Mustang with resolve. As he drove south, across the border, he realized that there was no turning back. What he had in the trunk of his car was too dangerous, too life changing, to keep in his basement. It was his drum set. He found himself in Los Angeles with only one goal: to rock the world.

Andre was born for one purpose and one purpose only: to knit the most beautiful bonnets Brazil had ever seen. Unfortunately, he developed severe carpal tunnel syndrome, moved to the United States, and has fallen into his second love of music. He lives and breathes to make music and touch people with rhythm.

Sweet James is about power, beauty, and difference. The Southern California quartet is equally comfortable rocking the house with their volume cranked as they are at playing acoustic breakdowns. Though a rock band, their foundation lies in the songwriting duo of Justin and Brett. The two have been playing to crowds in caf?s, bars and beaches for the past six years. Andre and Paul completed the group two years ago and have pushed the songs to new heights.

The debut album, ...between now and never..., ties together influences as diverse as the members themselves. The dominant themes of power, love, and loss are belted with huge string and choral arrangements in tracks such as "Smile," and whispered with a sole acoustic guitar in "Interlude."
