Brandon, a guitarist / songwriter, met Butch, also a guitarist / songwriter, back in 1999, and started a musical project that latter would evolve into Kidnap. It all started as a Guns n Roses tribute band, that was baptized Stick To Your Guns Venice and Brandon hooked up at an Alice Cooper show back in 2002, where they ended up arranging a jam session of GnR songs, and the chemistry resulted in an invitation for Venice to join Kidnap as their drummer. Josh Riot was a usual attendee at the STYG shows, and once other members saw him play a solo on a short video he emailed, the band knew it had found the right member to establish itself and eager to throw a little rock n roll in your ears. That was in mid 2004, and meanwhile Kidnap had developed a name on the local scene, building a solid and loyal following. This led to some invitations to become opening acts of bands like Whitesnake, Cheap Trick, Scorpions, Deep Purple and Robert Plant, which brought much more recognition to the band. Kidnap has been in the studio recording an EP of songs written during the past years, after releasing several self recorded demos. One of the demos got a particular attention, the sing You?re A Superstar, got some airplay on national radio Antena3, and local rock station Radio Marginal, and gained some success on many international internet forums, which resulted in an invitation to be on the soundtrack of an independent movie by the American director Brandon Meyers, slate for release in mid 2005.
