MPress Records label founder and singer-songwriter Rachael Sage reveals her latest video for "Invisible Light" from her stellar & critically acclaimed album Haunted By You. “Invisible Light” premiered exclusively through Curve Magazine and was the directorial debut for Alyson Greenfield (Tinderbox Festival Founder). The video shows the stunning Sage channeling old Hollywood glamour as she croons in her trademark souring voice. Watch here!
According to Sage the concept for the video was inspired by one her own works of art, “The idea for the video began with a painting I'd made. It's called "Woman Reaching" and Alyson (Greenfield) was immediately captivated by it. I think her exact words were: 'What if we made a video that depicted you as this woman you've painted...and presents you in a less campy, more soulful way than you've been in past videos?' I trusted her right away, and was also excited by the idea of her directing for the first time. There's something very infectious and powerful about her presence.”
Haunted By You, a landmark album in Sage's career, is a metaphoric tour de force of sophisticated pop, brimming with melodies.Self-produced by Sage and mixed by Grammy® Winner Kevin Killen and Grammy® Nominee John Shyloski, the album features guest performances by Dar Williams, Counting Crows member David Immergluck and actor/director Joshua Leonard.
Sage is currently on tour (recent dates with both Judy Collins & Al Stewart) and will be heading down to the legendary SXSW next week! Full dates below.

Field Report and NPR present the video for "I Am Not Waiting Anymore" from the band's debut full-length, Field Report, with a FirstWatchpremiere. The emotionally arresting video was directed by Manny Marquez and creates a wrenching narrative of a formerly homeless man seeking healing and redemption amidst the urban decay of Field Report's hometown, Milwaukee. By listening to Chris Porterfield's lyrics on repeat during his daily bike rides through Milwaukee, director Marquez says, "I started to see this world that he was creating, a world that was this Field Report album. It reminded me of Raymond Carver's work or Sherwood Anderson's Winesburg, OH. You have this series of seemingly normal situations, and people in different phases of life dealing with these situations. I'm talking about love, lost love, happiness, and longing. And with all the empty factories and old houses in Milwaukee, the town just set the scene." Marquez continues, "The most difficult part of shooting the video was the scene in the church food program at the end. That's St. Ben's in Milwaukee, and it's a wonderful place where the Capuchin Brothers feed about 400 people every night. We had to shoot it in a way that the only faces seen were those of the people that wanted to be in the video, and respect all the other people that were just there for a meal." Field Report will play songs off their widely praised 2012 record across the US this spring. They will headline a handful of dates before appearing at SXSW in March, followed by a tour of the East Coast with Sara Watkins. The full itinerary is below.
