Hello Lina and welcome to Melodic.net. How are you? I´m fine, thank you! Could you tell us a little bit about yourself? I'm a singer and songwriter, who have been into music for as long as I can remember. I live in Gothenburg with my drummer husband, our son and two cats. In 2006 I released my debut album on my own label Little Low Recordings and now it´s time for my second album. What can you tell us about your up-coming album "Again and Again"? It has a vibe from the 80´s and an air of 2012. Lots of background vocals, synth pads, airy guitars, hard beating drums and a solid bass support my voice. What has influenced this record? If you mean other music, it's such as Talking heads, Fleetwood Mac, Divinyls and Missing persons. The stuff they did in the 80`s. The things that inspired me to write were the things that usually inspire me: life, death, love, hurt, joy and sorrow. How would you say you have developed as a singer and a songwriter since your debut three years ago? I´m a much better singer, since I´ve practice A LOT! And the songs are less indie now, more luxurious, but they also have a roughness about them. Who are your main influences as an artist? Patti Smith, Stevie Nicks and Joni Mitchell among others. How do you write songs, what does the creation process look like? I come up with a melody or sentence when I´m on the bus or in the woods or when I´m about to fall asleep and then I write it down so that I can write the song when I have the piano or guitar nearby. After that I record it in logic to get a picture of what it will sound like with all the instruments. The next step, is rehears it with the band. Have you set any ultimate goals with your music? Whether it will make someone happy or make someone feel understood or it will be a hit on the radio, worldwide or in Sweden it doesn't matter, as long as its serves one of these purposes. Is there a song out there that you wish you had written? Everybody wants to rule the world by Tears for fears What albums was the best of 2011, in your opinion? Bon Iver and PJ Harveys Let England shake Who would be a dream artist to share a stage with? David Byrne Who is the best artist you have shared a stage with? The first one I think about is the one and only piano-player Matti Ollikainen, or perhaps the singer in the band Surreal Lovers: Hanna Chawki. They are not very famous but they´re both great! So if you haven´t heard them yet- check them out! What does the nearest future hold for you? Lots of gigs and then I will start to write on my third album! Thanks for answering the questions, any final words for our readers? Fill your hearts with love and music!! |
