Fair Ground is the culmination of years of friendship between Pete Lesperance and Mike Turner, two Canadian guitarists, who have sold millions world-wide in their respective projects Harem Scarem and Our Lady Peace. What began as a simple guest appearance on Petes solo record turned into a desire to fully collaborate on what was to become Fair Grounds debut Down In It. |

Founded in the quiet farm town of Sulphur Springs, Texas "Where people still say "please" and "thank you," as its chamber of commerce notes, Fair to Midland have become one of the most idiosyncratic musical forces in the Lone Star State. But as singer Darroh Sudderth, who rounds out FTM`s current lineup with guitarist Cliff Campbell, drummer Brett Stowers, bassist Jon Dicken, and keyboardist/electronics manipulator Matt Langley explains, idiosyncrasy also helps give the band its internal power. Signed to Serjical Strike/Universal Republic, the band has recently released their debut "Fables of a Mayfly." |

FF5 stands for Family Force 5 but it could also mean Freakin? Funkmasters 5 or Fabulous Full-scale 5 and I could go on all night with my own stoopid translations but Family Force 5 is the band you should own a record with to make your life so much happier. |

With millions of records sold and a handful of chart-topping singles, Filter is the epitome of a rock band that can withstand anything. Filter frontman Richard Patrick has been through it all in the past decade: Addiction, rehab, recovery, and now a return to making the solid hard rock albums his fans are used to. With 'The Trouble With Angels', Filter have returned to form, giving the world a record full of heavy rock music with the type of soaring vocals that only Richard Patrick can deliver. Melodic.net's Peter Fenn recently had the chance to talk with Filter frontman Richard Patrick regarding the new album. |

It's late on a Tuesday evening when guest writer Petter Hegevall manages to catch Mike Portnoy in a hotel room in Los Angeles. Mike just got out of bed but is still talkative and happy. It led to a one hour long conversation about influences, drum sets and the defection from Dream Theater. |

After a commercial success in the debut album that went gold earlier, Flyleaf is continuing touring hard and is now on their second Family Values tour. They have this year shared stage with acts like Korn, Evanescence, Atreyu, Trivium, Hellyeah and Neurosonic, or should I say that those bands had the opportunity to share stage with Flyleaf?Got the opportunity to send a bunch of questions to guitarist Jared Hartmann about tour life, success and the upcoming album…. |

Free Spirit is a hardworking and equally hard playing rock band hailing from Finland.Their music offers strong musicianship, soulful vocals and the essence of the great acts from the aor/ hardrock scene. Undercurrents of Celtic and folk music blend seamlessly with powerful guitars, souring harmonies and melodies that will get stuck in your head for days at a time; a wound healed only by listening to more and more, quenching the thirst of a Free Spirit hit. |

Thanks to my good Swedish friend Johan Palm i got hooked up with the
terrific music of Joe Firstman. Rather late if you ask me cos his latest
release "The War Of Women" was released on Atlantic about 2 years ago.
Well normally we dont go back in time cos theres a lot of great recent
music out right now. But this is an exceptional well gifted
singer/songwriter and i should ashame myself for not putting the
spotlight anytime sooner on this interesting guy. He recently wrote
together with Josh Kelley ... do i need to say more ? Well his style is
somewhere between Kevin Gilbert and Marty Lloyd, i can hear you begging
for more if your into this vein .... check out Joefirstman.com and
youll hear n see what we mean ....

?Sweet Rachel? is a lovely AOR song from the 80?s act Beau Coup which many of us AOR fans have been singing on and that Rachel really exists, ohyeah??her name is Rachel Farris,a 26 year old girl from Florida with a voice from heaven and songs so easy to soak in. And that is not so strange because the title of her debut album is ?SOAK? and produced by no others than the well respected brothers of John and Dino Elefante, modern rock/pop in it?s best way. Rachel is everyone?s dream of the neighbour we all want to have, No matter what mood you woke up with or what kinda weather it is, When you meet her and hear her say ?Good morning!,on your way to work??it will save the day!
