Dominoe - New Studio Album "the Story Is Far From Told
These days, a nostalgic trip back to the 80s isn’t that unusual, especially when it comes to music. In 1988, the debut single of a then-unknown band became an overnight success. R5 was the name of the car. ‘Here I Am’ was the name of the song. DOMINOE was the name of the band! The hit single - prominently featured in a Renault commercial - dominated the German charts for weeks. The song also gained massive exposure on television all over Europe.
The year: 2008. ROBERT PAPST and JÖRG SIEBER still are the musicians behind DOMINOE. PAPST, who has been a successful producer and composer since the 90s, gained international reputation for his work in the fields of film, TV and commercials. Just recently, he won an award for the score he wrote for the Gunther Scholz movie “Sag’ mir wo die Schönen sind”. His work for the film “Mörderischer Frieden” was praised at the German Film Awards. JÖRG SIEBER and ROBERT PAPST have been friends for years. They both share a great love for music, for being on stage, for writing songs. And what’s even more important: Both of them still love writing songs together!
DOMINOE - The Story Is Far From Told! This is the name of DOMINOE’s new album which will be available on 14th of August in 2008. New versions of the classic smash hits “Here I Am” and “Let’s Talk About Life” as well as 14 brand new songs make “The story is far from told!” the ultimate DOMINOE anniversary album. Mainstream rock music at its best: Pithy riffs, striking vocals and a very clean production. It’s not hard to tell that both musicians had a lot of fun playing together again after such a long period of time. And if this was not enough, they even went to Los Angeles where GAVIN LURSSEN put the finishing touches on the new album. He is the man who - among many other productions - mastered JOHNNY CASH’s last album in 2002.
The band already has had a couple of successful live appearances at German TV (including ZDF´s famous show ´Fernsehgarten´) in 2008. The highlight undoubtfully though will be their appearance at Sat1´s "Hit-Giganten" at the end of next week.
