Adelitas Way To Release New Album On May 17th

Las Vegas-based rock band Adelitas Way will release their second album, entitled Home School Valedictorian, on May 17th on Virgin Records. The band, which is vocalist Rick DeJesus, guitarist Keith Wallen, bassist Derek Johnston, and drummer Trevor Stafford, have been in the studio in Los Angeles with producer Dave Bassett (Shinedown) recording since September of last year.

Home School Valedictorian is the follow-up to Adelitas Way’s self-titled debut album, which AllMusic said “sizzles with rage, sex, and regret … the band kicks up enough noise to satisfy even the most dogmatic hard rock junkie.” Released by Virgin Records in July 2009, the album spawned the hit single “Invincible,” which climbed to No. 6 on the Active Rock chart. “Invincible” was also heard in promos for CSI Miami, included on the soundtrack to WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010, and was the official theme song of WWE Superstars.

Adelitas Way will hit the road for a spring tour with Sick Puppies in March. Please see below for all confirmed tour dates. The band has previously toured with Halestorm, Puddle of Mudd, Saliva, Shinedown, 10 Years, Breaking Benjamin, Chris Cornell, Hinder, Theory of A Deadman, and Tantric, honing their reputation as a powerful live act. They also performed at Rock on the Range in both 2009 and 2010.

Did you know that?

Sevendust´s original band name was Crawlspace. However. there was another band with the same name, and they had a copyright. Since they had a show coming up soon, they needed a new band name. While searching through a garage, a can of Ortho´s Sevin dust insecticide and were duly inspired.
