Review

Toad The Wet Sprocket is one of my favorite bands from the 90s. Ok, they were formed in the 80s, but it was not until a decade later as they reached on top of the charts. "Walk On The Ocean" and "All I Want" became their major hits, taken from the album Fear from 1991 that sold over a million albums. No bad numbers, but the band had very good timing and wrote above all lots of great pop / rock that will live for many years to come.

This album that is re-recordings of their greatest hits may seem a bit unnecessary. But, the band does not have access to some of the versions they did for Columbia Records in the '90s so they had to re-record them again.

And for those who have not heard the band, Toad The Wet Sprocket plays straightforward and simple pop/rock with plenty of heart and great melodies. Front man Glen Phillips has a very personal voice, which puts its mark on the band's beautiful songs.

Personally think that it’s worth checking up everything with the band from their breakthrough record and onwards, but this is a very good introduction if you haven’t heard anything from them before.

Did you know that?

Ozzy’s “Mama I’m Coming Home” is 1 of 4 songs that Motorhead’s Lemmy Kilmister co-wrote for the “No More Tears” album.
