Review

Switzerland har produced many great melodic hardrock bands in the past like Gotthard, Shakra and Krokus. Now Peter Hochuli vocals, Pascal Zqyssig guitars, Andy Dormann guitars, Markus Flury bass and Marcel Burgener drums has released their 5-track CD "Back For Attack". These Swiss rockers are in the same field as Gotthard, Shakra, Krokus, Pink Cream 69 and Helloween but not as strong though.

Charing Cross has been around since 1993 and their debut is a nice one, they don?t have to be ashamed about it. There are plenty of great guitarriffs and melodies on the album.
The singer Peter Hochuli has a powerful voice and is perfect for the sound of Charing Cross.

The songs on "Back For Attack" are very enjoyable with strong hooklines and most important- the melodies are there. The standout track on the album is the fantastic hardrock ballad "Still Inside My Heart" were they have managed to create a wonderful song. This song is right up in the league of Pink Cream 69.
"Judgement Day" is also nice with crunchy guitarriffs and a pleasant chorus with strong background vocals.
If the mentioned acts of the melodic hard rock genre is your melody then don?t be afraid to check out this new melodic rockband from the land the Alps.

These guys should contact Dennis Ward of Pink Cream 69 and ask him to produce their full-length album, then maybe we would have a new melodic sensation to look out for, but that?s just my suggestion.
A very solid and nice album.
