The classic AOR band Dare will release their first time ever live CD/DVD from the Deep Impact 2004 show. I been a huge fan of this band since their classic debut album Out Of The Silence came out 1988. But I have to say that their last couple of albums has not been that exciting. Nice albums but they don?t have the up-tempo songs that would lift up the album to a higer level. So how does this Live album sound? I think the sound is lot better than I had expected but still their is something missing in the soundproduction but I don?t think it will disturbe the buyers in anyway. Most of the songs are from their recent releases Belief and Beneath The Sining Water and I thinks it?s a shame that they have not choosen more up-tempo rockers to this live album. Way to many songs are to laidback and balladish and it never takes off, it misses the right rockers. Best songs are those taken from the debut album such as Abandon, Into The Fire, Return The Heart and King Of Spades that are really good. I have seen Dare live and then they rocked really good and I had wished they had done it this time aswell. I don?t know how the DVD version looks like but I would spend my money on the DVD version. Not a sensational live album but still a nice one with couple of highlights from the debut album. If you?re a Dare fan then this is a MUST in your collection. The DVD and CD booklet includes liner notes written by Birgitt Schwanke, who is the publisher of one of Germany?s leading melodic rock magazines. There is also some extra material on the DVD version like a previously unreleased video clip to the song Deliverance as well as a 5 chapter interview.
