This album from 1992 is truly a lost gem for all fans of acoustic based AOR-ish midwest rock in the same vein as Nelson,Mitch Malloy or Nouveaux fine album "And this is how I feel" from 1996. Mr.Reality only released one album which is a shame but if you can lay your hands on a copy in a second hand store, don?t hesitate coz it?s filled with fantastic harmony vocals a la Eagles and sunny songs that will shine through any rainy day. The band that consisted of Peter Scherer,Rob Tanico and Gordon Brown later formed Highway 9 and released the great album "What in Samhill" in 2002,I hope these New Jersey guys will record something new soon!

Mr. Reality released one of the greatest albums in American music history in my opinion. Before I realized how common it was, I offered a friend of mine $100 for his copy of the cd. He refused. The next day I picked it up at Academy on 18th street in NYC for 99 cents! It's a great cd. I also have the Samhill and Highway 9 cds, and a cd with a couple of unreleased Highway 9 songs on it. If anyone wants to talk about this great band, email me at glamsandi@hotmail.com
Thanks,

Hi,
I'm in need of some help. I am searching for the where abouts of a band that I saw back in 1992-1993 in Bucks County, Pa. I bought one of their cassettes at the time at the end of their show. The band was called Dreamer. They were a 5 piece band and everyone in the band could sing lead very strong. They were the only band that I ever saw live play the Queen cover of Bohemiam Rahpsody and midway through the song they went into Bicycle then go back into Bohemiam Rahpsody where they left off and finish the entire song. It sounded amazing.
Anyway, I got to talking to members of the band and they were telling me about being in the studio with Mr. Reality from New Jersey. That they were friends with those guys.
The cassette I have from Dreamer has all originals on it. Very Kansas-ish (Steve Walsh era).
The songs on it are:
side 1 - Life Ain't No Fairy Tale, Superficial Smiles, Jade, Daze, Symphony
side 2 - Solid Ground, Simplicity, Even The Score, Take Me Away
1992-1993 P.O.J. Music; ASCAP
This all the information I have and that I could remember. Any sort of help or bits and pieces of info would be appreciated.
Carl from Philly, Pa.

I saw these guys unexpectantly perform live at the Royce Hotel (Oxford Vally - Bucks County) in the ballroom there. Unbelieveable show! I had to buy the CD at their show after their performance. I couldn't believe that they sounded exactly like the recording - hot vocal harmonies!
A few years later I saw a band (similar harmonies) called Dreamer. They knew the band Mr. Reality and had done studio work with them crossing paths. I also have a cassette tape of this band Dreamer. If anyone else has any info on this band please e-mail me at cmanaloto@comcast.net

My husband grew up with them (in New Jersey) and played back-up guitar in Mr. Reality for a while. That's why I first heard them through a studio recording that my husband has.
I too wondered where the heck they are, as they are awesome, and should have done more recordings. But, my husband told me that two of the band members died (one of them in a car accident). I pray that he is wrong.

That Samhill album is great!!! Was able to find it at ebay for nothing, but think it very rare now. Will add a review soon, it deserves that, maybe their best album!??
If you're talking about the Samhill album I'm sure that mr winberg of melodic.net is really interested in it!!!
