The 3rd release from Michael Voss and his Christian rock soldiers is just like the previous 2, a flirt with Stryper. Voss continues to sound like Michael Sweet when he sings but on "White Sands", the music also tend to go in the vein of early Bon Jovi and Dokken at times. There?s nothing remarkable about this album but if you like your melodic rock to go in the 80?s vein, Mad Max won?t disappoint you in any way. I think the last track "War" is their best song so far, the riffs brings thoughts to Saxon in their finest NWOBHM days but the chorus is even better. The opening track "Family of rock" and "We fight in white" are songs in the same tradition as Stryper?s white metal, they also give us a nice dose of AOR in the Bon Jovi-esque songs "Someone like you" and "Little princess". But I think Paul Stanley might have something to say about "Too wrong" which pretty much is Kiss classic song "Love gun". However, good melodic rock!
"The Verve" lost all the money from their hit song "Bitter Sweet Symphony" after it was shown that they were using a sample of the Rolling Stone "The Last Time."
