Review

The LaBlanc brothers are back with the follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut 4 years ago. Falling From The Moon is even better than the debut and if you´re into pink and fluffy keyboards with fantastic melodies and strong soundtrack AOR-hooks , then this is a must for you. They have come up with a brilliant 80s sounding album in the same vein as Survivor, Pride Of Lions and Glass Tiger’s Simple Mission. Singer Robbie LaBlanc sings stunning on the album and I can’t help myself to think about Alan Frew of Glass Tiger. The album opens up just amazing with I Come Alive and Falling From The Moon that are true classic AOR-songs with layers of keyboards and awesome hooklines. I Swear To You is a winner with wonderful melodies and the chorus is superb. Now you might wonder if the album holds the same quality throughout the whole album? Yes, the brothers has written AOR by numbers through the whole album. They have managed to mix wonderful ballads with strong AOR-rockers just perfect and I have listened to this album over and over these past weeks together with W.E.T. Everything is a huge Survivor sounding ballad with lovely string arrangements. Light Of The World smells Glass Tiger for miles and this is great mid-tempo rocker with a great piano sound in the background. The chorus on I Will is fantastic with great melodies and Robbie sings amazing with great feeling. This is a safe buy for every AOR-fan out there and if you’re a sucker for 80s keyboard oriented AOR then get your money ready. Damn good album with first class production.

Sir Lord Baltimore
I am not so much into AOR nowadays, but this is a really nice record. A big surprise. Much better then their debut but not better then Fury.

Did you know that?

Although some Eagles fans insist that the band´s name is simply Eagles, guitarist Don Felder told TV´s Night Talk in 2009, the band´s name is The Eagles.
