From Perth, Australia comes Courtney Murphy. He made it to the Top 3 on the Australian Idol in 2004 and performed alongside John Farnham in 2005, he and his brothers Chris and Kieran also has a band called Murphy´s Lore but let´s focus on Courtney´s solo debut "Big". This is a really good album of Bleu-ish pop and even moments of Billy Joel-like soulpop, and to my surprise I got to know that Bleu mixed it so there you´ll go. "Big" consists of 10 original tracks and a cover of Billy Field´s no.1 hit "You weren´t in love" that Courtney does a great version of. This man is a super talented singer and it´s truly a joy to listen to his voice on songs like "The actress", "Second best" and the new single "Salvation Jane". It says in his biography that the guys of Taxiride wrote music on "Big", that is wonderful....it was about time I heard something from that great band. Highly recommended!
When "Stairway To Heaven" is played backwards, you can hear the phrase "oh here´s to my sweet satan..the one who´s little path would make me sad, whose power is satan..he´ll give you give you 666 there was a little toolshed where he would make us suffer, sad in the part of "if there´s a bustle..."
