How many bands can you count that has a unique sound in 2011? Back in the 70´s and 80´s, there were lots of influential bands that created their own sound but in the 90´s which are the dark ages of rock, music kinda stopped developing with less classic albums. We shouldn´t even mention the latest decade where it´s almost impossible to name a dozen new artists with a groundbreaking sound. That´s why I´m glad to present De Staat from Holland and their new album "Machinery"! This is what I´m talking about, a band that dare to explore something different and still deliver something that can be described as the opposite to Clockwork Orange in music. De Staat is insane, a psychedelic mess, the lost cousins of Devo and yet so unbelieavable beautiful. They make smart music with focus on avantgarde rock that is perfect for the dance partyfor the film One flew over the cuckoos nest. A contender for the toplist of 2011!

Tracklisting 1. Ah, I See
2. Sweatshop
3. I'll Never Marry You
4. Old MacDonald Don't Have No Farm No More
5. I'm A Rat
6. Keep Me Home
7. Tumbling Down
8. Psycho Disco
9. Rooster-Man
10. Serial Killer
11. Back To The Grind

Yeah
A solid review! The only thing that is missing is one star extra... ;) Machinery is AMAZING! The music is insane and the lyrics... Daring to touch topics of our society!

Did you know that?

Foo Fighters are a term that was used by World War II pilots to describe strange flying fireballs they sometimes saw.
