Review

Imagine yourself being in an air glider high above the mountains, soaring through the clouds, watching down on the green fields of the highlands in Scotland. That is the feeling I get while listening to Ali Ferguson´s album "The windmills and the stars", it´s a very laid back and beautiful album that bring thoughts to Camel and David Gilmour. I like the way Ali has captured the atmospheric sounds in these songs, especially on "In morning sky", "Flickering golden" and "Coinsidence is no accident". Ali is currently the lead guitarist of Ray Wilson (Stiltskin, Genesis) and I bet he´s a big fan of artists like Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd and Alan Parsons Project. You could be influenced by a lot worse artists and I think there is a hole to fill in this genre, there aren´t too many new bands sounding like this. Let´s welcome Ali and embrace his music.
