This 4 track EP from the Texas based post rock band And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead is an album teaser with new tracks taken from the forthcoming 6th album "The century of self" out on Feb.17th. After 3 albums on Interscope, the band now releases this EP and the new album independently on Richter Scale records. I never really bothered to listen to this band in the past but might regret that now since these 4 new songs are so bloody good, the sound is huge and atmospheric and mostly remind of a mix between Smashing Pumpkins, Secret Machines and Rogue Wave. I love the 70´s prog influences as well as a touch of more modern alternative rock, the instrumental "The betrayal of Roger Casement and the Irish brigade" is stunning. I can´t wait to hear the next album because this is one of the best EP´s of 2008, just turn up the volume to the pompous opening track "Bells of creation" - just marvelous! |

| Oh,I like this album a lot ?coz of its typical english punk/hardrock sound.....mixed up with a bit of THE POLICE(the early days). First when I heard the single "Nothing" I knew this was a band for my taste in music packed with tons of energy and edgy guitars. The singer Jason Perry sounds like Sting sometimes but a bit rawer and angrier I suppose. This hot band from UK will visit Sweden on the 15th of May at "Klubben" in Stockholm for all our Swedish friends to know about. I most certainly will try to make it there myself. HiFi Serious is their 3rd studio album and contains lots of short uptempo rockers that is perfect for all your partys to come. It will end up on my top 20 list when I will summen this music year! The song "Starbucks" is their next single but I can think of more hit singles from this explosive record....."6 O?clock" for example, play it loud on your stereo and you will see why! Thank you guys for bringing us good mood music. |

This CD have the coolest title for a CD I have heard in a long time! The modern rockers with a punkish powerpop attitude have just released a mini-album with seven live tracks and its a cool livealbum that proofs some good damn energy. Add a cool "behind the scene video" you can see on your computer and were quite ahead what we have to do with. Musically It s very much Cheap Trick attitude and melodies, and this is probably how Cheap Trick would have sound like if they where 22 years old the year 2003. If you have As studio albums and enjoy them I can warmly recommend the album. If you havent got them I suggest you start with "Hi-Fi Serious" and then buy this live album if you have some money over to spend on a CD. It sure proofs that they are a great live-act and I really would like to see them live! |

British pioneers of modern rock music-A! is back with their 15th single since the first one was released in 97 and this one "Good time" is taken from their upcoming 4th album, many people are waiting for this one to come out because last year?s success "Hi-Fi serious" was the big breakthrough for this alternative metal band,I like singer Jason perry?s voice a whole lot because he has a personal and original way of singing even if it reminds of Sting quite a lot.
When "Nothing" was a huge hit from the last album and "Starbucks" was a real upspeeded party kicker,I think "Good time" will have a hard time being the same chartclimber as the previous singles,it?s not a bad song...oh no,I like it this one a lot. Hearing it I believe it will be a great stage rocker but a hit?!, I don?t think so,maybe I?m wrong on this one but the refrain doesn?t feel like anything you will hear on the radio! |

Oh how I have been waiting for the British band A?s new album to hit the stores, they started recording it in 2003 and released the single "Good time" the same year but then nothing happened.....and the year after.....more nothingness. I dont know what the problem was of not releasing this album the first time we heard on their website that it was completed, but I guess the record label didn?t like what they heard so they kicked back the boys in the studio to write and record some more. The song "Good time" is not included on this album, instead we get 12 new adrenaline rockers in the same tradition as the previous record "Hi-Fi serious". The first two singles taken from their new album are the opener "Rush song" and the second track "Better off with him" - the later song is the better one with great hooks in the chorus. Soundwise they haven?t changed much from their 2002 hit selling album but the songs just don?t match killer tracks like "Nothing","Starbucks","Six o?clock" and "The distance" from Hi-Fi serious. I was expecting a lot more from "Teen dance ordinance",still it?s a real good album and will blow away many releases this year.....such a shame though that many of these choruses weren?t as good as I hoped. I love Jason Perry?s voice and he?s a strong reason why you should get a copy of TDO but I don?t think they?re gonna get a big hit from their new album! |

A quartet based out of Santa Cruz, Ca; A Burning Water was formed in the winter of 2000 and is a mixture of Indie, Post-Hardcore and Rock. Their music is a mix of intensity, melody, emotion, harmony and energy. "We can see the sky from here" is the band?s debut and a few tunes are really good like "So much you hide" and "A passing wish" while others are too non-melodic like an overdose of screamopunk. This 10 track album also contains 3 instrumental atmospheric pieces - "Introduction","The instrumental" and "Echoes in the alcove" which all features some cool swirling guitarwork. Talk about ups and downs on each and every song,it should?ve been more ups! |

Some albums grow from small to giant size within days, I never really cared for The Cardigans before but their lead singer Nina Persson sound so much better in A Camp. They won 4 Swedish Grammys for their first album from 2001 and now they´re back with the 2nd album "Colonia". We can also find Nina´s husband Nathan Larson and Atomic Swing leader Niclas Frisk in the band, there are also guest appearances from James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins) and Mark Linkous (Sparklehorse) on "Colonia". You might remember the 2001 hit "I can buy you" which is pretty nice but the new single "Stronger than Jesus" is even better, I think romantic pop is a good description of their sound. The last 4 tracks isn´t on the same level as the other songs which is holding me back from giving this album more than 3,5 stars. But songs like "The crowning", "Love has left the room", "Here are many wild animals", "Chinatown" and "Golden teeth and silver medals" are nothing but excellent. |

Arizona band A Change of pace releases their major debut on March 22nd, it?s an album that will appeal to all fans of the screamo emo genre where bands like Taking Back Sunday, Senses Fail and Thrice comes in mind. Together with producer Michael Baskette (Chevelle) they have created a tight and energetic affair of melodic emo that is easy to like, this might not go to history as something revolutionary but this quartet writes good songs and really deliver some cool guitar riffs here and there. I can?t find any fillers and if you?re into this kinda of emo - this is truly an offer you can?t refuse! HIGHLIGHTS:Asleep at the wheel,Death do us part |

Want a tip of a great emo/metal album with supermelodic choruses in the punkpop vein? Then the answer is the new album from A Change Of Pace. I thought their debut was strong but this one is even stronger, "Prepare the masses" takes the band on the right direction to the stadium rockband they rightfully deserve to be. These guys grew up listening to Story of the year and Taking Back Sunday, now they?re just as good and could very well start headlining upcoming tours if this one start selling which I hope it will. It?s time to put A Change of Pace on the map of emo for good, I can imagine how big the awesome "I?m alive" can sound at any arena. The catchy "Weekend warriors" should conquer the airwaves on radio if there?s any logic to it, the opening track "Prepare the masses" is as massive as a caravan of trucks heading your way. 46 minutes you want to hear over and over again so load your iPod?s now - you won?t regret it! |

| Oh man, I thought that these kinda albums weren´t made anylonger. Ohio based A Cry Farewell takes the listener back to they heydays of rap oriented numetal of albums like Linkin Park´s Hybrid Theory, Saliva´s Every Six Seconds and P.O.D. This band released "The Offering" EP in 2010 and all songs are featured on their debut full length "The war goes on" which is produced by Travis Wyrick, just as heavy as I want it. There are lots of riffs here and I do welcome the electro based rock A Cry Farewell deliver, when they are really melodic they remind of Black Light Burns. Close to massive! |

Phoenix based A Dark Halo sounds like Metallica meets Linkin Park with a symphonic touch and without the rap, this 8 track EP really took me by surprise how well produced it was. This electro metal could be used to a soundtrack, there?s a certain movie vibe going through these tracks. "Catalyst" is a package of keyboard driven industrial numetal also close to bands like Destrophy, Opiate For The Masses and Suburban Tribe. You?ll get a varied sounding EP all from the straight and classic metal of the closing track "Unbreakable" to the synthpop metal of "Silence". I just love the synthesizers in the progressive school of rock on "Nucleus", what a song! |

The world is not only about Simple Plan, Hawk Nelson and Fall Out Boy when it comes to pop punk - Springfield based A Day Away does it just as good because their debut "Touch me, tease me, take me for granted" from 2006 is filled with singalong tunes and party starters that should be in every pop punk fan´s iPod. A Day Away is Jake Turner - Vocals, Kevin Gates - Guitar, Blake Duncan - Guitar, Cory LaVallee - Bass, and Tommy Oerding - Drums, the band came into existence in early 2005, self released an EP and quickly built a local fan base. The Japanese version of the 2006 album contains the bonus track "That girl", the band recently released their second full length "Here we go again" so there you have 2 albums to check out in the same time. |

After their debut full length in 2002 and an EP in 2004, the Dutch progrock band A Day?s Work deliver a true masterpiece in their new album "A Home in the rain". Their sound is somewhere between Marillion (the Steve Hogarth era), Ray Wilson and Simple Minds - it could be a helluva lot worse if you?ll ask me.....woooahyeah this is the kinda album I want Santa to bring me for x-mas but my good friend Tonnie supported me with a cdr of it a few weeks back and I thank him so much because I?m speechless.
Singer Paul Glandorf is brilliant and sounds like a mix of Steve Hogarth and Jim Kerr, he?s backed up by the supertight band of Wouter Schild - bass, Maarten Apel - guitar, Martijn Weyburg - guitar, Colin Lee Vermeulen - drums and Len van de Lak - keyboards. Marvelous production and a magnificent line up of songs will put this album high on my best of 2006 list. I just love the fat bass of this album, the mighty Taurus pedals has yet again spoken! |

From the fertile musical soil of Albany, Oregon comes the next rock band, A Dream Too Late. Following in the footsteps of their Oregon predecessors (Falling Up, The Send), A Dream Too Late blends melodic vocals with dynamic rock attitude and intricate programming. Leaping out of the gates with an already impressive tour history (Run Kid Run, The Send, Ruth, Falling Up), A Dream Too Late will hit the road with starry eyes and beautiful new album, “Intermission To The Moon."
Over the years Oregon’s Portland/Albany area has served up many compelling bands of interest, but none with the unique blend of positivity and indie rock musicality like that of A Dream Too Late. Forget any Northwest slacker overtones; when considering Tooth & Nail’s newest rockers, think more in terms like adventurous, creative, and empowering. The highly focused band stands out from acclaimed labelmates Falling Up, The Send and Run Kid Run for their particular sense of mission. True to their name, they promote the dreaming of dreams, even as they live out their own.
The album has good blend of Melodic Rock with mixtures of synth rock. I wouldnt say anything amazing on this record as Tooth and Nail is known for many of my rocking albums. This one falls a little short with originality but a good rocker album nonetheless. Most of the synth is very cool, but nothing really grabs me with the overall sound of the record. I listened to it many times trying to pick out the hooks of the album but couldnt find too many. Overall its a good record but I cant honestly say that its anything above other Tooth and Nail artists such as Anberlin, Emery, Ruth or Sullivan, which the band resembles most to me. |

Los Angeles based A Fifth Of Reason rocks as hard as Alice in Chains but with a huge dose of classic rock a la Led Zeppelin in a modern package, you could say you´re gonna get plenty of grunge and melodic hard rock injections with modern oriented choruses on "Lux Prima". The opener "Miracle" is perhaps the most radio ready song on the album that could work on the active rock airwaves, "Heresy" breathes Led Zep and the dark title track "Lux prima" should make Tool proud while the agressive "Cauterize" really do stand out with its powerful chorus. Do you remember Big Wreck? Well I think A Fifth of Reason sound a bit like them and that aint too bad now aint it?! |

Ted Nugent was widely known for his record long shows in the 70´s and one time he did 2 three hour long shows on the same day in Paris.
