John Emerson (drums), Jeremy Stanfill (vocals/guitar/keys), James Godwin (bass), and Chris Mitchell (guitar/vocals) are 4 guys that knows how to write rockmusic that will capture you from the first track to the last on their debut "Fortunate accident".
It ain?t fair to label their music into any category that many reviewers (including me) loves to do,it is ofcourse the easiest way to describe a band?s sound and to get the reader to understand what style we?re dealing with but I won?t do that with Crippled Nation.

What I can say though is that their singer Jeremy Stanfill and Good Charlotte?s frontman Benji Madden has similar voices,I also love their sense of mixing great ballads with rockers and midtempo tracks.
Out of these 8 tracks,we find a bunch of anthemic rock songs that deserves to be released by a major label - but even if their uptempo arena rock stand strong like a rock, the highlight of the album is the ballad "City lights" which I can listen to over and over again.
You can also purchase their 4 track EP from 2004 at interpunk.com that contains 2 tracks not included on FA,this Memphis based band will recruit many fans with this great album - I?m one of them and I know you will be too...............!

-As a long time fan, I can honestly say that Crippled Nations music just gets better and better each year. Its been fun watching them grow into their own style, and make cds that I can play over and over again, from beginning to end. If you are not listening to "CN", you are really missing out on the best local music that Memphis has to offer!

Fightstar´s first EP was heavily influenced by the author Chuck Palahniuk, with the band naming a song after him ("Palahniuk´s Laughter") and including a drawing of Edward Norton´s character in the film adaptation of the Palahniuk book Fight Club.
