What do you get when you cross Treat, Human Temple, Outland, The Poodles and Harlan Cage? You get the new sensation from Finland called Brother Firetribe with Nightwish guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, this is pure 80s AOR with fluffy keyboards, knife sharp guitars and choruses that is filled with bombastic catchy hooklines that captures you right away. I would never had thought that a member of a band like Nightwish could create this kind of album with fantastic and melodic AOR right from the heart. You won?t have a boring moment throughout the 10 tracks that False Metal has to offer. "Devil?s Daughter" is a brilliant up-tempo rocker with pompish keyboards that are all over this song with a huge hookladen sound and a tremandous chorus. "Break Out" is another winner with a powerful sound and riffs that takes you for a ride in the land of the 1000 lakes plus a chorus that hits you like a runaway train.
Keyboard heaven can be heard on "Valerie" that opens up with pure fluffy AOR-keyboards and the chorus reminds very much of the Outland, very catchy. The first single from the album is "One Single Breath" - this is an amazing rocker that opens up with outstanding keyboards that really takes you back to the 80s, a song that really gets to your head right away when you hear it and you can?t say that this is boring because it got the right touch, halleluja what a song. Anybody remember the classic 80s AOR band Fortune? (later became Harlan Cage) Well, those that do will jump of joy when they hear "Love Tonight". It?s pure AOR-heaven and it?s hard to sit still when the pompish keyboards and riffantastic guitars shouts out from the speakers, classy stuff. "Spanish Eyes" is a fantastic AOR-ballad with lovely melodies.
This is nothing but a sensational debut album from these fantastic guys from Finland. It?s great to hear that there are people that wants to bring back the classic sound of the 80s and have a major label behind them, thumps up. Even if there?s so much 80s over this album - I don?t think it sounds any dated at all, just check them out and get amazed, because they really took me under their spell. It?s been only released in Finland so far but I saw that AOR Heaven has it. So what do you wait, order a copy of False Metal.
