Rob Moratti (vocals) and Von Groove member Mladen (guitars, bass, keyboards) are back with a new Final Frontier album on a new label.
These Canadian AOR men knows how to deliver first class AOR with hooks, melodies and great vocals - this is nothing new under the sun but Rob and Mladen has the right touch to make this something special and I?m stuck in this 80s AOR totally.
I have to say that this new album is the strongest one they have released even if I think the last album was very good but this is even better.
Rob Moratti has a high-pitched voice that reminds very much of Tony Mills (Shy, TNT) and this is something you either love or not, and I love it.

The start of the album is pure magic with 3 outstanding AOR-hits right away. Just listen to "Dynamo" that is filled with catchy hooklines mixed with strong melodies and a brilliant chorus.
"Foolish Pride" (you can hear this song on their myspace site) is the song of the album. This is a freakin? stunning piece of pure classic AOR from the opening riffs to the end with a perfect chorus that hits you like a brick of stones and it won?t leave your head for a long time.
Just listen to the guitarmelodies that Mladen delivers, outstanding is the word. It?s hard to catch your breath after this opening. "Only The Lonely" is very close to Journey and reminds of one song with that band with almost the same title, still a very good song.

The mid-part of the album is Ok but not as strong as the start but the end is again much better. "Nothing Is Easy" is a strong AOR-song with great hooklines and chorus. "Lion?s Den" is a brilliant song filled with hooks all over and an awesome chorus.
"The Witches Mask" is a stunning Pomp/AOR song ala Styx meeting Queen with powerful harmony vocals in the pompish chorus, fantastic stuff.
The album ends with the bonus track "Delia" that is a nice pianoballad.

I don?t have much to complain about with this album, only that the production could have a bit stronger but it?s nothing that will disturb you in any way. This is a wet dream for every AOR-fan that wants lots of keyboards that builds up the hookladen songs. This is one of the strongest Escape releases for a long time. Hats off to Final Frontier and thanks for givin? us prime time AOR for our ears. So if you?re into 80s AOR I can only say that you can?t avoid this release.
