Northwest of Helsinki in Finland we will find the city of Turku where the new alternative modern rock band Stanley hails from.
Their sound can be described as a mix between 90's postrock a la Kent, Smashing Pumpkins and the modern rock of Foo Fighers and Rasmus.
Their debut "Skylines and rooftops" was produced by Jonas Olsson (Deep Insight) and it features the infectious new single "Halo"
but I must point out their love for melancholy melodies in songs like the Kent-esque "Zenith" and "Soothing waves" which I am weak for.
We're talking a rich artistic performance and songs full of nuances, crunchy guitar riffs and clean crispy guitar chords with beautiful vocal melodies on top.
Another great new promising band from the land of the 1000 lakes!

Fightstar�s first EP was heavily influenced by the author Chuck Palahniuk, with the band naming a song after him ("Palahniuk�s Laughter") and including a drawing of Edward Norton�s character in the film adaptation of the Palahniuk book Fight Club.
