"/> Headway "The Start" (TBA,2007) Producer: Josh Abraham Genre: Alternative Rock Format: Ep Website: www.headwaymusic.com Reviewed by: Kaj Roth Add to MySpace Add to Facebook It's been almost 30 years since the football club Nottingham Forest won the European Cup but maybe now it's time for the next bomb to drop from Nottingham, UK. The excellent anthemic pop/rock band Headway recently released their debut EP "The Start" on Suretone records and in 2008, their debut full length "Letters" will be out. It was back in 2006 and their brilliant first single "Always the same" when I first heard about them and then Headway signed with Suretone/Universal Music Group and finally the world will see and hear this fantastic new band. The title track "The start" is available for free download at their myspace page just to give you a small appetizer of the greatness this band sits on, the new song "Lord knows" off the forthcoming album is used on NBC's new promo of the popular TV show ER. The magnificent song "Always the same" is ofcourse featured on this 5 track EP and if you need more to be convinced, then you just sit back and soak in the stunning "Safety", "Sing our hearts out" and "Finish what you started". I will end this review by quoting their biography: The Headway sound is elegant piano mixed with a driving rhythm section and swooping rock guitars. Beautifully crafted songs are overlaid with the unique voice and melodies of David Wright. Not just a mesmerizing vocalist, but a great front man too the kind of front man that the UK are renowned for producing.
