The voice of Petra returns with the first solo over a decade, John Schlitt released "Shake" in 1995 and "Unfit for swine" in 1996 and now his long awaited 3rd solo album "The Grafting" is out.
The new album is produced by his son-in-law Dan Needham who also co-wrote a lot of the tracks on "The grafting" along with Mark Heimermann.
John Schlitt has one of the finest voices in Christian rock and he's one of few singers that can make time stand still on the ballads, especially with Petra but we also get a share of beautiful ballads on his new album like the heavenly "Only men".
The sound bring thoughts to the 90's Petra style from the 1993 album "Wake up call" up to "Arrival" in 2001, my favorite tracks are "Gravity" and "Face of god" that both are marvelous upbeat modern rock songs.
John and Bob Hartman released the worship album II guys from Petra in 2007 and 2 years earlier, John sang lead vocals on the hard rock band Project Damage Control's first cd.
He's a busy artist but you can always count on quality work from this wonderful singer.
