Reviewed by: Kaj Roth Add to MySpace Add to Facebook Soundborne is the project from Premacy guitarist Stian Dahl, this instrumental album also features established Norwegian musicians like Premacy drummer Torkel Riiser, Circus Maximus keyboardist Lasse Finbraten, Diabla bassist Morten Granheim and Tidalwoe guitarist Jorn Arild Grefsrud. "Hallucinations" is self produced but it was mixed by Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames), the music draws influences from hard rock, progressive rock, Norwegian folk music and jazz - I have reviewed Premacy's both demos at melodic.net but I must say that "Hallucinations" is the best work so far from Stian Dahl. The band is currently working on their second album which will include vocals by singer Rick Holmen, who recently have become a member of the band. Music freaks that are allergic of long pieces don't have to be afraid because this album contains 13 tracks with the longest track being 4 minutes, I'm glad to say this musical adventure isn't a showcase of technical extravaganza but more of a musical landscape of heavy riffs, melodies and odd song structures. This ain't your average instrumental rock album.
