Within the progressive rock genre you often find either a bunch of bands clearly influenced by the giants DREAM THEATER � or, in the other case, lots of bands obviously in love with PINK FLOYD or GENESIS. Well, Swedish band MAZE OF TIME makes be happy by actually delivering a blend of BOTH these paths. And they even add something of their own to the music. They have the fine taste of knowing when to go for �less is more�, where other artists tend to overdo it and try to play as fast as they can (and not always getting away with it). I think of their countrymen GALLEON in �Station To Station�, while they�re approaching progressive AOR in �Playgrounds�. Except for the aforementioned influences, I also need to mention YES, SAGA and MARILLION. Any fan of all these bands will feel at home here. Good musicianship and a fine singer in Jesper Land�n.
