Reviewed by: Kaj Roth Add to MySpace Add to Facebook Marseille was one of the first NWOBHM bands to get a recording contract, they debuted in 1978 with the "Red White and Slighty Blue" EP which was followed by the self titled long play in 1979. The band toured with some of the biggest bands like UFO, Whitesnake and Judas Priest - and in 1984 they released their final album "Touch the night". In 2003, the 2 disc compilation "Rock you tonight" was released which leads us to this year when 4 of the 5 original members of Marseille has reunited. Singer Paul Dale has been replaced by Nigel Roberts who reminds a bit of Nicky Moore of Samson, after 25 years the band felt they wanted to rock again and gives us 4 new songs on the brand new "Fourplay" EP. This is melodic hardrock in the early 80's style like a mix of Mamas Boys and Samson, the song "Are you ready" is quite average but the more melodic "Heat" sound even better and is my favorite here. "Some like it hot" bring thoughts to Rose Tattoo while "You're a woman" is a typical NWOBHM song just like it used to sound back in the 80's. Nice!
